A title sequence reboot reimagines a film’s opening using motion design, typography, and visual storytelling. For my class project, I redesigned the title sequence for The Iceman, creating a fresh interpretation that reflects the film’s tone and themes.

The Iceman: A Chilling Reimagining in Motion
Redesigning the title sequence for The Iceman involved analyzing the film’s themes, mood, and visual style to create a sequence that aligns with its dark and intense narrative. I explored typography, motion, and color schemes to establish a compelling atmosphere while ensuring a seamless blend of design and storytelling.
Storyboarding & Initial Sketches
I created rough hand-drawn sketches to explore themes that introduce the film’s characters, setting, and key symbols. These initial concepts helped shape the visual direction of the title sequence, ensuring a design that aligns with the film’s tone and narrative. A PDF of the sketches showcases this early stage of development.

Storyboarding & Initial Sketches
I aimed to establish a sense of mystery while subtly foreshadowing the film’s cold and unforgiving truth. To achieve this, I experimented with a palette of browns and blues, carefully selecting colors that evoke the film’s atmosphere and set the tone for the animation’s visual direction.

Final Storyboard & Title Sequence
Using overlays and image adjustments in Adobe Photoshop, I crafted a visual style that conveys a sense of mystery and unease. Once I established the look, I focused on animation, designing the text to move slowly and assemble itself—mirroring an investigation unfolds. This approach reflects the film’s central theme of uncovering The Iceman’s true identity.
