When learning about the Sustainable Development Goals, I chose to create an infographic focusing on Quality Education (Goal #4). My research led me to explore different reading strategies, particularly Phonics and the Three Cueing System. While the Three Cueing System is commonly used in classrooms, I discovered that Phonics provides a more structured and effective way to teach reading. Through this infographic, I wanted to visually compare these methods and highlight the importance of Phonics in developing strong literacy skills.
Infographic
In designing this piece, I intentionally used a grayscale illustration of a child in a classroom to create a neutral educational atmosphere, ensuring that the key information stands out. The bold yellow and orange sections representing Phonics and Three Cueing draw immediate attention to the differences between the two methods. The structured layout, clean typography, and color contrast give the infographic a professional and academic feel, making it both informative and engaging. The goal was to create a visually compelling and easy-to-understand educational tool that effectively communicates the importance of structured literacy instruction.
